Regenerate mailman archives
The following command regenerates an archive for a named mailing list:
$ /usr/lib/mailman/bin/arch <list name>
Note that the named list must be an existing mailing list. Regenerating archives for decommissioned mailing lists is not supported by Mailman. Should it be required to regenerate the archives anyway, the trick to employ is to create a list (temporarily) and remove the list - but not the archive! - after the new list HTML has been generated.
Order of messages
As per the description in this link: https://mail.python.org/pipermail/mailman-users/2007-April/056687.html, it seems that the ordering of messages in the mbox archive is irrelevant for proper generation of the mailing list HTML archives -- the only influence it has is on the numbering of the messages within the HTML archive, not the ability to sort by date or thread.
